Dr. Lane joined Associated Eye Care in 1985. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his ophthalmology residency at Pennsylvania State University and is fellowship trained in cornea/external disease. Dr. Lane’s expertise is in cataract surgery, cornea/external disease, anterior segment surgery, and refractive surgery. He has extensively taught and lectured nationally and internationally in all of these disciplines. He is a past president of the largest cataract and refractive surgery society in the world (ASCRS) and is an Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Minnesota. Dr. Lane is a visiting faculty member of ORBIS International, which is involved in teaching specialized surgical techniques to physicians in Third World countries around the world.
Dr. Lane’s interests include golf, skiing, tennis, reading and traveling. He and his wife have three children.
